The Society & Technology Research Lab advances research at the intersection of social sciences and technology to inform societal progress.
Launching October 2025
About the Program:
This program conducts applied research to understand how technology influences societal issues such as equity, ethics, and community well-being. The lab translates findings into reports, policy briefs, and practical tools that help organizations and leaders make informed, people-centered decisions about technology’s role in society.
Who Can Participate:
-
Open to academics, graduate students, and practitioners
-
Must have interest in research on society and technology
-
Prior research experience required
Why It Matters:
Technology is reshaping how we live, work, and relate to each other — but many decisions about its use lack input from social science research. This lab ensures that organizations, policymakers, and communities have evidence-based insights to adopt technologies responsibly, reduce harms, and promote equity in rapidly changing environments.
